Together with the group of Prof Zehn (TUM School of Life Sciences, Weihenstephan) we investigate the role of the intestinal microbiome for its capability to modify immunity in a systemic viral infection model. The project is embedded in the collaborative research center CRC1371 ( and funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft.

ERC starting grant ALLERGUT

The ERC starting grant ALLERGUT (grant number 718716) investigates the role of the gastrointestinal tract for its capacity to modify immune responses with a particular focus on allergic diseases. The project main research question is centered around the characterization and functional analysis of a subset of regulatory T cells that is induced exclusively at this site and has the proven capability to regulate Th2 cells.
