|Together with the group of Prof Zehn (TUM School of Life Sciences, Weihenstephan) we investigate the role of the intestinal microbiome for its capability to modify immunity in a systemic viral infection model. The project is embedded in the collaborative research center CRC1371 (www.sfb1371.tum.de) and funded by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft.

|The ERC starting grant ALLERGUT (grant number 718716) investigates the role of the gastrointestinal tract for its capacity to modify immune responses with a particular focus on allergic diseases. The project main research question is centered around the characterization and functional analysis of a subset of regulatory T cells that is induced exclusively at this site and has the proven capability to regulate Th2 cells.
